On August 31st 2023, the “excellent soloist, with a brilliant and sparkling touch and clear structure” (press report), who performs around the world, was able to be hired for “Klassik im Klasse” after he had given a concert in the house the previous evening as part of the Goslar International Music Festival INN-tegrative gGmbH. This year, under the heading “PrimaDonna,” the program featured the concert repertoire of great female composers who are only gradually being rediscovered.
The main work of the first part of the program that evening was the piano cycle “The Year” by Fanny Hensel, followed by works by Robert Schumann, Rey Colaço and one of the pianist’s own compositions.
Vasco Dantas’ performance at the student concerts was refreshingly relaxed, informative and entertaining.
What amazed the students most was the list of the 31-year-old pianist’s worldwide concert engagements.
